Carnival Cruise Lines Luncheon on Carnival Miracle February 22, 2012 (17)
Carnival Cruise Lines hosted a Membership Recruitment event aboard the Carnival Miracle for the Honey Shine Mentoring Program. Attended by Honey Shine Founder, Tracy Wilson Mourning, 2012 "Lady Bugs" Members, other donors and AAA representatives, guests received a private shipboard tour and gourmet lunch. Carnival has had a long history with Honey Shine as the Corporate Sponsor of Camp Honey Shine. -
Happy Hour at Philippe February 9, 2012 (20)
Young professionals came together for a happy hour filled with delicious appetizers and specialty drinks to learn more about the important work of Honey Shine. A special "Thank You" to our committee: Jessica Baron, Susset Cabrera, Kristin Diercks, Anna Etienne, Isabella Garofanelli, Donna Levy, Bethany Martinez, Christina McKinnon and Genna Revitz. -
Thanksgiving "Fun" Raiser (17)
Giving thanks for all that their donors and volunteers do, the Honey Shine Mentoring Program held a special “Fun” Raiser on Friday, November 18, at Lucky Strike Lanes in South Beach with cocktails, bowling, music and more. Special guests, including Alonzo and Tracy Mourning, came together at the hip bowling alley to show their support for the Honey Shine Mentoring Program. Lanes were sponsored by Boucher Brothers, Allen & Arlene Furst, Diane Johnson, Larry & Tracy Spiegelman and Ray & Nadine Valme. -

9th Annual "Hats Off" Luncheon (19)
Themed “Under the Big Top,” this year’s luncheon boasted a runway bedazzled with circus decor and tabletops adorned with circus snacks including animal crackers, candies and cracker jacks. Honey Shine’s own 17-year old Honey Bug, Carcelia “Renee” Roberson, greeted more than 50 tables of guests at the luncheon and shared her own story and success of growing up with the Honey Shine Mentoring Program. The fashion show featured models from elementary, middle and high school grades (4 from each) showcasing GAP outfits for the season paired with outfits designed by Lady Bug member, Manisha Patel. Patel also dressed the volunteers and hostesses for the luncheon. The lavish buffet-style luncheon was catered by Jungle Island, which included circus themed cocktails during the glamorous reception and silent auction hosted by ING held at the Lakeside Café. Metro Signs and Original Impressions also donated their services. More than 230 members are now a part of the Honey Shine Mentoring Program. -
Bourbon Steak Member Recruitment Happy Hour (16)
The Honey Shine Mentoring Program was honored at a special evening event hosted at Fairmont Turnberry Isle Resort & Club and Bourbon Steak Miami by Toni & Neil Goodman and Aventura Worldwide Transportation. Honey Shine Lady Bugs and prospective members gathered for gourmet hors d’oeuvres and cocktails on Thursday, April 14th, 2011 for the evening reception where they mingled and learned more about Honey Shine’s important work. Toni Goodman and Lynne Landsberg were the hostesses for the fabulous event that drew current and prospective members from the local community. More than 70 guests joined Tracy Wilson Mourning and husband Alonzo Mourning alongside fellow Alonzo Mourning Charities members and executives at Bourbon Steak Miami, where a special prix fixe dinner was offered after the event. 8th Annual "Hats Off" Luncheon (41)
The Honey Shine Mentoring Program hosted the 8th annual “Hats Off” Luncheon presented by ING at the Treetop Ballroom at Jungle Island on Tuesday, April 27th, 2010. Tracy Wilson Mourning hosted the “Sweet Inspirations” themed event, and one of Honey Shine’s own, 17-year old Honey Bug Tammy Scott, served as Mistress of Ceremonies, sharing her personal story of success as a Honey Bug and emceeing the mid-day event. The “Hats Off” Luncheon is the Honey Shine Mentoring Program’s premier event, with proceeds funding bi-monthly “Aspire to Shine” Workshops as well as Camp Honey Shine, a four-week summer day camp for the more than 100 girls (a.k.a. Honey Bugs) enrolled in the program. 500 women attended the luncheon, sporting their favorite hats, and were greeted by a large room filled with 140 items for the silent auction. The tables were sprinkled with various confectioner treats, fitting with the “Sweet Inspirations” theme, and items included various designer handbags, custom-made jewelry, vacation stays and more. -
2009 Honey Shine Member Thank You Luncheon (14)
Members of the Honey Shine Mentoring Program – a.k.a. Lady Bugs – had a chance to relax and rejoice while celebrating another successful year of making a positive impact on the lives of young girls across South Florida. Hosted by Tracy Wilson Mourning, founder of the Honey Shine Mentoring Program, the annual members-only luncheon was held on Tuesday, November 17, 2009, at Nikki Beach on South Beach. Honey Shine Volunteer Reception at Epicure Gourmet Market & Cafe (22)
On October 22, 2009 Honey Shine honored its dedicated and passionate volunteers with a reception sponsored by and hosted at Epicure Gourmet Market & Café in Sunny Isles Beach, Florida. More than 80 volunteers from the 2008-2009 Honey Shine program year came together for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. (Photos provided by Allison Deutch) -
7th Annual Hats Off Luncheon - SUNTASTIC (40)
Located at Jungle Island the “Hats Off” Luncheon brought together over 450 guests who were able to catch a glimpse of twelve of our Honey Bugs as they SHINED during a Fashion Show sponsored by Aventura Mall as well as learn more about how Honey Shine has impacted our Honey Bugs with two personal testimonies. Eight Honey Bugs served as Hostesses for the day and our guests could not get enough of their hospitable attitudes. (Photos by Jo Winstead) -

Lady Bug Event at Casa de Korge (15)
On March 13,Honey Shine held its first Lady Bug recruitment event with an exclusive cooking and mixology demonstration by OLA Restaurant. The day was hosted by Norma Jean Abraham, Ada Armas, Irene Korge, Bobbie Van Der Vlught and Kim Wood.
